Several category fields as one block
tax-group="Field name" When a category has several related fields, such as origin, altitude and roast, they are easier to keep together. tax-group gathers them into one group in the category’s settings.
Where it goes
On the block that holds the fields: tax-group="Category origin". The fields inside are ordinary fld-text and the rest, and they become the group’s fields.
It works like fld-group, only the group lives on the category.
The field appears in the admin only if the page has a group name: wp-fields-group on its <body>.
Example: where the beans come from
<aside class="category__origin" tax-group="Category origin">
<p fld-text="Region">Sidama, Ethiopia</p>
<p fld-text="Altitude">1,900–2,200 m</p>
</aside>The client filled in the region and altitude on the “Coffee” category.
What matters
- The group appears on every category and tag.
- Values are entered on each category: “Load data” does not fill category fields.
- For repeating rows, use tax-loop.
Common mistakes
The build log is the “Logs” tab of your project on themeforge.pro; the free markup check shows the same notes.
<aside fld-group="Category origin">
<p fld-text="Region">Sidama, Ethiopia</p>
</aside>fld-group on a category page is a group of a page or post, not of the category: the category gets no values of its own. The log stays silent.
<aside tax-group="Category origin">
<p fld-text="Region">Sidama, Ethiopia</p>
</aside>tax-group is the category’s own group.
Alternative spelling
t_group works the same: the build gives an identical theme.
