The design changes. The content stays.
ThemeForge turns a finished site into a WordPress theme where every text, image and list is a field in the admin. Rebuild the site with a new design as often as you like: the content your client keeps in the admin fields stays where it was.
From a finished site to one your client runs
- Step 1
Mark what will be editable
Short marks, called attributes, go into the code of the finished site. A mark says: “this heading becomes a field in the admin, and this is its name.” The site looks exactly the same with them.
fld-textis a field of this page.fld-loopis a list where the client adds rows.opt-textis a site-wide setting, such as the phone number in the header and footer.A person adds the marks in Webflow, or the AI that wrote the site does it. Give the AI the link themeforge.pro/ai and ask it to place the marks by the rules there.

- Step 2
Check the markup before building
A free check, with no account, shows what would get in the way of the build: two different fields with the same name, a mark with a typo, a block called something like “adv” that ad blockers mistake for a banner and hide from visitors.
An AI assistant runs the check itself and fixes the markup until the answer is empty.
Markup check example answer- index · Two fields named “Button” on one page: a link and its text. Call the text “Button text”.
- menu · Ad blockers hide the class “adv” from visitors. Rename the block.
- contacts · No issues.
- Step 3
Build the theme
Your ThemeForge project builds the theme: page templates, field groups, site-wide settings and forms. Open its admin in the browser right away, free; with the subscription you download the ZIP and install it like any other theme. The fields in the admin come from the free Secure Custom Fields plugin from wordpress.org, which the theme installs by itself.
The “Load data” button moves the site’s texts and images into the fields. From then on, the pages show what is stored in the admin.

- 53 fields, 3 of them lists
- 1 settings page: phone, address, opening hours, logo
- Forms: entries are kept in the admin and sent by email, to Telegram or by webhook to a CRM or another service
- Step 4
Your client runs the site
The client changes prices, adds items and uploads photos in the ordinary WordPress admin. They never open the theme’s code, and they need no page builder.

Rebuild with a new design
The AI or a designer reworked the layout. You build the theme again and click “Update”, in the project or right in the WordPress admin.
An update replaces only the theme files. The client’s edits live in the WordPress database, so the “Flat white” row they added stays put. Before replacing anything, the theme keeps a copy of itself and rolls back if the site does not open after the update.

What is kept when you rebuild
| What | After the rebuild |
|---|---|
| Field values | Kept, as long as the field has the same name in the new layout |
| List rows the client added | Kept |
| Site-wide settings | Kept |
| Posts, products, menus, form entries | Kept: this is ordinary WordPress data |
Your own code (user-functions.php, user.css, user.js) | Never overwritten by an update |
| A field renamed in the layout | Shows empty: for the build it is a new field. The old value is not deleted and comes back if you restore the old name |
| Running “Load data” again | Overwrites fields with the text from the source. Fields marked fld-no-import are left alone |
An ordinary WordPress theme, with the content in fields
The content lives in the admin
- Texts, images and lists are fields in WordPress
- A new build changes the look, not the content
- Editing in the standard admin; the plugins it needs are free
The theme is yours
- Installs on any WordPress hosting
- No link to ThemeForge on the site
- The site keeps working if you cancel the subscription
Sites, not applications
What it builds
Landing pages, company sites, blogs, catalogs and WooCommerce shops.
What does not move as it is
Sites that behave like applications: personal accounts, complex calculators, logic written in React. Such parts need to be rebuilt in WordPress.
