Claude designs the site. ThemeForge makes it WordPress.
Claude writes good HTML. Give it one link to our markup rules, and it also marks which texts, images and lists your client should edit. ThemeForge turns the result into a WordPress theme with those parts as admin fields.

Yes. Ask Claude to build the site as static HTML files and to follow themeforge.pro/ai when it marks the editable parts. Check its markup with our free validator, add the site to ThemeForge and you get a classic WordPress theme. The rules are the same on every run, so when Claude redesigns the site, the rebuilt theme keeps your client’s content.
From a chat with Claude to a WordPress admin
- Step 1
Ask Claude for a marked-up site
Describe the site and add: “Build it as static HTML files and mark the editable parts by the rules at themeforge.pro/ai.” Claude Code can also run the free markup check itself.
- Step 2
Check and add the site
Fix what the markup check reports, publish the files at any address (or upload the folder) and add the site to your ThemeForge project.
- Step 3
Preview, then hand over
Open the WordPress admin in your browser and see every field filled. Subscribe to download the theme; ask Claude for a new design later and rebuild with the content intact.
In the chat or in your project folder
claude.ai
- Paste or link the rules from
themeforge.pro/ai - Ask for the pages as separate HTML files with one CSS file
- Download them into a folder
- Good for a first version and small changes
Claude Code
- Works directly in the site’s folder
- Reads the rules and marks up every page
- Runs the markup check with
curland fixes what it finds - Good for real projects and repeated redesigns

One link teaches Claude the markup
The rules at themeforge.pro/ai are plain text written for an assistant: where attributes go, which mistakes the builder rejects, and how to check the result. Claude reads them like any other page.
- themeforge.pro/ai · plain-text rules for assistants
- Markup check · free, no account, before you build
- Markup guide · the same rules, written for people
# Tell your assistant Read https://themeforge.pro/ai and mark up this site so the client can edit the menu. # Check the result before building curl -X POST https://themeforge.pro/api/validate-markup \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"pages":[{"name":"index.html","html":"…"}]}'
Know these before you start
Static HTML, not an app
Ask Claude for plain HTML pages. React or Next.js output has to be turned into static HTML first.
Check before you build
Assistants sometimes give two fields the same name or leave a list row unmarked. The free markup check catches both before they reach the admin.
Ask Claude for a shop, languages or forms too

Claude to WordPress, answered
Can’t I just ask Claude to write a WordPress theme?
You can, and you get a theme once. Field names are invented anew on every change, so after the next redesign your client’s content no longer matches the fields. ThemeForge builds from the same rules every time, and a rebuild keeps the fields.
Which Claude plan do I need?
Any plan that lets Claude write the files. Claude Code is the most convenient: it works in the project folder and can run the markup check by itself.
What happens to my client’s content when Claude redesigns the site?
It stays. Content lives in WordPress fields; the new design keeps the same field names because Claude follows the same rules, and the rebuilt theme shows the same content.
Is the markup check free?
Yes, and it needs no account. Claude or you send the pages to POST /api/validate-markup and get back what the builder would object to.
Do I need to read the HTML Claude writes?
Not line by line. The markup check reads it for you and lists every problem with the element it is on; pass the list back to Claude and run the check again.
